Fares and discounts on electric cars are decided by the authorities. Fares vary depending on the county and whether your ferry connection is part of a county road or not.
Reduced fares are usually only given on the electric car itself. Normal rates apply to both driver and passenger(s). Please note that normal rates on a car typically include the driver. Road toll is not payable on electric cars in Norway.
Hordaland
In Hordaland county, electric cars pay half fare. Note that if you use a value card, you will not get the value card discount.
Rogaland
In Rogaland county, electric cars must from 1 June 2016 pay the same fare as motorcycles. Please note that normal fare apply (0 NOK) to electric cars on the Hjelmeland – Nesvik and Lauvik – Oanes routes because they are part of a national road (Norwegian National Road 13).
Trøndelag
In Trøndelag, on the Brekstad – Valset route, rates equivalent to that of a standard passenger vehicle up to and including 6 metres apply.
This is a toll road connection, but toll is not payable if you have an electric car. Normal rates apply to any passengers.
