Norled has completed our first sustainability program and sustainability report for 2021.
We’ve been working to make our vessels more environmentally friendly for a long time. Now we also have a sustainability program in place that clearly shows how we can improve. Our first sustainability report is also ready.
– We aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by 67% by 2030 by increasing the share of low- and zero-emission vessels in our fleet from 4% in 2019 to 65% by 2030. We will achieve this by working with strategic partners in propulsion systems, automation and energy carriers. We will also work to attract more women to the industry, aiming for a 50% share in the onshore organization and 30% overall in the organization by 2030. By 2040, our ambition is to be a zero-emission company,” says CEO Heidi Wolden.
Sustainability Manager Lars Inge Vågen and Project Manager Hilde-Kristin Sæter have led the work of mapping priorities and involving employees, owners and partners to determine where Norled can make a difference and how this should be done.
How we will achieve the goals
“Norled is already working to reduce emissions and pave the way for environmentally friendly technology, but now we’re going to measure and work systematically, while at the same time preparing and working long-term in other areas. One example is getting more women into the industry and the company – especially at sea,” says Sustainability Project Manager Hilde-Kristin Sæter.
