Lars Inge Vågen (40) and Rannveig Drengstig (47) have been appointed Commercial Director and Development Director respectively at Norled.

With these two appointments, Norled CEO Heidi Wolden has completed the reorganization of the company’s management team, after joining the company herself last year.

Vågen will have overall responsibility for Norled’s commercial activities, including work on public tenders and business development. He holds a master’s degree in industrial economics from the University of Stavanger, and comes from the position as tender and commercial manager in TechnipFMC’s subsea business in Europe.

– Norled is an innovative company that is a world leader in innovative and environmentally friendly transportation solutions at sea. I look forward to working with talented employees to further develop the company’s leadership position in the green maritime shift,” says Vågen.

He believes that the knowledge and experience from tender processes and negotiations in the energy industry will also be useful in Norled’s efforts to win future tenders.

As Development Director, Drengstig will have the overall responsibility for continuous improvement and development in Norled through digitalization, organizational development and innovation. The position also includes responsibility for IT/digital strategy and HR. Drengstig holds a master’s degree in economics from Handelshøyskole Syd in Denmark and the University of Uppsala in Sweden, and comes from the position of Chief Operating Officer at Santander Consumer Bank.

– Norled is an exciting company with proud maritime traditions and a very important social mission, and I look forward to getting to know both the company and all the dedicated employees. I am incredibly happy that I now have the opportunity to contribute to a company that is a leader in climate and environmentally friendly innovation in the maritime sector,” says Drengstig.

Wolden is pleased to have Drengstig and Vågen join the company’s management team after a recruitment process in which many good candidates were considered.

– “I have been keen to ensure that both the functions and the people in Norled’s senior management are the right ones for the company’s desired development in the years to come. In Rannveig Elisabeth and Lars Inge, we have found experienced business people with both the right background and the desired personal qualities,” says Wolden.

The other members of Norled’s management team are COO Lars Jacob Engelsen, CTO Sigvald Breivik and CFO Tord Helland.

Norled is one of Norway’s largest ferry and express boat companies, with operations along the coast from Oslo to Troms and Finnmark. The company is a world leader in green transition in the maritime sector. Among other things, the company has developed and commissioned the world’s first battery-powered passenger ferry, and later this year the world’s first hydrogen-powered passenger ferry will be put into operation.
