Toril Marie Ås – new CFO
Toril Marie Ås has recently been interim CFO of Norled. She has solid experience from the field of economics and finance, with a master’s degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics in Bodø and a master’s degree in management from London Business School. Toril has previously held leading roles as CFO in companies such as GK Gruppen, Navamedic ASA and Telenor’s media and content division. She has also been responsible for the business area “Corporate Functions and Group Activities” in Telenor.
– Working in the maritime industry and at Norled is both interesting and meaningful. The company plays a key role in Norwegian infrastructure by providing safe and efficient transportation for thousands of passengers and vehicles every single day. This requires precision and good cooperation across many disciplines, which makes the job very motivating,” says Ås.
She also highlights Norled’s commitment to new technology as exciting:

Steffan Lindsø – new Technical Director
Steffan Lindsø started as acting Technical Director in Norled October 2024. He has a master’s degree in ship design and extensive experience from the maritime industry. Steffan has previously worked as project manager and technical manager in MAERSK, Damen Shipyard and Oceaneering, and he has also been technical director in Nordic Unmanned.
– My first time at Norled has been hectic, but very exciting. I have been given the opportunity to work closely with our impressive newbuilding projects and the SHIFTR technology initiative. This is an environment characterized by skilled and committed colleagues who have given me a warm welcome. I look forward to further developing our technical department and contributing to Norled’s position as a leading player in the maritime industry,” says Lindsø.
He emphasizes the great responsibility and complexity of Norled’s business:

Norled has a fleet of 80 vessels and operates ferry and express boat services from the Oslo Fjord to Troms. The company has invested heavily in new types of vessels and environmentally friendly technology, and has developed solutions that are unique in the world. Among other things, Norled has developed and deployed the world’s first battery-powered passenger ferry and the world’s first hydrogen-powered passenger ferry.
