The AutoPASS payment scheme for ferries will be introduced from January 1, 2019

Discontinuation of old scheme
Today’s value card can be used until 30.06.2019. However, replenishment of new value in the value card ferry card will be stopped on March 30, 2019. Customers who wish to be refunded the remaining value in the value card before it is used up must contact the ferry company that issued the card.

Introduction of a new payment scheme: AutoPASS for ferry

AutoPASS for ferries will be launched on January 1, 2019 and will replace the current national scheme with value cards and bulk user cards. In the new payment scheme, it will be possible to pay with an AutoPASS ferry card or AutoPASS chip linked to a central AutoPASS ferry account.

AutoPASS ferry cards are used on ferry services with passenger payment and AutoPASS tags where only the vehicle is paid for. See more information at www.autopassferje.no or at the individual ferry company.

Procurement of AutoPASS ferry cards and AutoPASS tags

  • AutoPASS ferry cards are assigned and issued in connection with the creation of an AutoPASS ferry account.
  • AutoPASS tags are available from a toll company, see www.autopass.no for information.
  • Those who already have a chip installed in their car only need to create an additional AutoPASS ferry account.

Creating an AutoPASS ferry account

Signing an agreement, setting up an AutoPASS ferry account and making an advance payment is done via www.autopassferje.no. Private individuals can link two vehicles to an agreement, while companies can link as many vehicles as they need to an agreement.

Via “My page” at www.autopassferje.no, receipts and an overview of travel can be retrieved.
