Companions
Persons traveling in the company of a person presenting an ID card, where the municipality has confirmed that the person in question needs one or more companions, travel free of charge. This applies both when traveling without a car and as passengers in an ordinary car.
If the attendant is the driver of the vehicle, the attendant is included in the price of the vehicle for which the ordinary tariff is to be calculated.
NAV supported vehicles
For vehicles purchased with support from NAV (also referred to as social security car, national insurance car, handicap car), there is a 50% discount on the full price of the vehicle. This also applies if the car’s owner fulfills the conditions for support for a car from NAV, but has still chosen to buy a car without such support.
A 50% discount is also given on a passenger ticket, whether the car owner or a companion is driving the car.
The NAV offices issue a special identification certificate with the vehicle registration number. This must be presented together with another identity card.
A 50% discount is only given for the vehicle for which NAV has issued a certificate of identification when the owner is in the car.
Trailer
In order to receive a 50% discount on a trailer, the same documentation from the NAV office is required as for the car. A social security car with a trailer must be paid for on the same ticket. If the journey is paid for with a value card, a 50% discount will also be given on the trailer, even if it is not approved by NAV.
