Different prices for electric cars

The authorities determine prices and discounts for electric cars. This can vary from county to county and whether the ferry is part of a county road or not. In the county-by-county breakdown below, it is county road links that are discussed.

When the authorities have decided that there should be a discount, it is on the electric car itself, while the driver and passenger must pay the regular price. Note that the regular price of the car generally includes the driver. Electric cars do not pay tolls in Norway.

Hordaland

In Hordaland, there is a half-rate for electric cars. It’s free on national roads, but not free on county roads NB: If you have a value card, you do not get the value card discount.

Rogaland

In Rogaland, from June 1, 2016, electric cars pay the same as motorcycle tariffs. On the Hjelmeland – Nesvik and Lauvik – Oanes stretches, there is no MC tariff for electric cars, because it is part of a national road (Riksvei 13). The tariff is then NOK 0.

Trøndelag

In Trøndelag, on the Brekstad – Valset route, electric car tariffs apply corresponding to ordinary cars up to and including 6 meters.

This is a toll connection. If you have an electric car you do not have to pay tolls. There is a regular fare for any passengers.
