The first time you use a new Norled value card, you must activate it on a Norled boat before you can use it with other ferry companies. It is not possible to activate a Norled value card with another company.

Remember to write down the card number, for reference in case of any future inquiries to Norled regarding the card. All value cards are anonymous.

Some of the traffic companies have chosen not to be part of the ferry card collaboration. For example, Norled’s ferries in Tromsø have Troms fylkestrafikk’s ticketing equipment, and they are not part of the ferry card cooperation. You can therefore not use other cards on that route.

This mainly applies to Vest-Agder up to and including Møre, as well as Brekstad-Valset in Trøndelag, and Torghatten’s 5 ferry services in Norland.

Payment history and receipts

Unfortunately, we do not provide history for value cards. The authorities have decided that a value card should be an anonymous card, which should be treated accordingly. Information from such history also does not contain VAT information, and is not officially approved information that can be used for accounting and the like. The receipt for the purchase of the card is the only officially approved information.

  • Remember to keep your receipt. You do not have the option of having a new receipt made.
  • If you want to know the balance on your value card, ask the ticket inspector the next time you use the value card on the vessel.
