Sustainability reporting

Norled has completed our first sustainability program and sustainability report for 2022. This means that our vision is updated and that clear goals are set for the future.
We aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by 67% by 2030 by increasing the share of low- and zero-emission vessels in our fleet from 4% in 2019 to 65% by 2030. We will achieve this by collaborating with strategic partners in propulsion systems, automation and energy carriers. We will also work to attract more women to the industry, where the goal is 50% share in the land organization and 30% share in the sea organization by 2030. By 2040, our ambition is to be a zero-emission company.
The goals are based on input from the organization, partners and owners
The sustainability strategy describes how we will work with sustainability and what goals we have set ourselves. We want to take into account how our operations affect people, society, climate and the environment, while safeguarding value creation. We will also be transparent in our sustainability reporting.
In 2021, we carried out a comprehensive survey of the priorities that employees and stakeholders want the company to have in relation to sustainability. The work consisted of surveys for all employees and several workshops with participation from several parts of the company. In addition, we interviewed representatives from the board and management. We also talked to owners, customers, partners, authorities and interest organizations.
Linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
The UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Government’s Climate Plan have been used as a framework in the development of the strategy.
Our goals are linked to 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Four of these goals stand out as areas where Norled can really have a positive impact. These are 5, 9, 11 and 13.
5: Gender equality
9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
11: Sustainable cities and communities
13: Stopping climate change
